Franz Pyka, Head Chef
In a way Franz is an old stager at Wild & Wiese. Before joining the team as a permanent member in 2019 he used to work as a freelancer at several Wild events. Born in Rostock, not only did he bring his love for attention to detail, but also his relaxed character and his dry humor to Wild & Wiese. His quick grasp and good sense for the team’s and the clients’ needs paved his way to become head chef. So he is in charge of the Wild kitchen team since 2022.Since he was 13 years old his initial culinary passion were cakes! Black Forest Cherry cake was his specialty when he was in 7th grade. Still, he didn’t want to only do the sweet stuff, so he decided on his career: becoming a chef. Today his favorite dish is stirred polenta with nut butter and truffle. Mmmm…
Although Franz addresses all senses with his gorgeous compositions, visuals mostly inspire him. Great pictures of food inspire him instantly to create his own culinary art. It is kind of obvious that photography holds a special place in his heart– Skateboarding as well!
He loves to spend his free time with his ten-year-old daughter. As a head chef, he has plenty of time for her. This was his condition we gladly fulfilled. „You don’t get any time back you don’t spend with your kids.” How true!
Franz’ first activity recommendation in Berlin? Absolutely unpretentious with a touch of his typical Franz-humor: „Get your friends a sparkling beverage, sit in front of a Späti, and enjoy the people and your surroundings. The street curb with a Jägermeister works out as well…“ Thank you Franz, for always keeping an eye on everything!
